MILWAUKEE – Senior Ashley Welk has been selected as the NACC Offensive Player of the Week, as voted on by the athletic communication professionals of the league.
Welk (Mount Prospect, Ill.) led Marian to a pair of victories to open the NACC slate. She opened the week with the first hat trick of her career scoring three times in a 4-3 win over Wisconsin Lutheran. Welk then opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the week in a 5-1 win over Rockford before assisting the eventual game-winning goal. She currently ranks second in the NACC for goals scored with six and total points with 14. Welk also ranks eighth on the all-time Marian scoring list with 84 career points and is just three points away from passing Jenny Jacobson for seventh.

Marian closes out a five-game homestand taking on St. Norbert Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. from Smith Field.
