Marian University Announces New Initiatives

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Marian University announces new initiatives in traditional, adult and graduate study enrollment efforts, resulting in the restructuring of offices and new roles and responsibilities for current staff members, as well as the hiring of new Marian personnel.

Shannon LaLuzerne has been promoted to the Dean of Admission. She is a two-time Marian graduate and has worked in the area of admission at Marian for the past 17 years. In her new role, LaLuzerne will provide oversight to the functions of the Office of Admission and manage the undergraduate admission team as they work to reach University enrollment goals.

Cheryl Hartwig has been named Interim Director of Adult and Graduate Admission and will be responsible for the planning, managing and coordinating of operations for the adult and graduate program. Hartwig, a three-time Marian graduate, has been working as the Director of the Working Families Grant since 2010 and has been employed at Marian since 1996.

Tracy Qualmann is the new Director of Enrollment Partnerships. She will be responsible for identifying and building partnerships with businesses, industry, veterans’ affairs offices and other organizations in an effort to meet the needs of the marketplace. She has worked at Marian for 17 years. She, too, is a three-time Marian graduate.

Andelys Bolanos now serves as the Assistant Director of International Enrollment and Study Abroad Programs. She is responsible for the recruitment of international students and providing assistance to currently enrolled international students, as well as Marian students who want to study abroad. Prior to this position, Bolanos was an Admission Counselor for the past five years.

Mike Manders is now the eCommunication Manager which focuses on integrating electronic communication (web, video, social media, blogs, etc.) into the marketing and communications strategy for Marian University. Manders, a Marian graduate, previously served as the University’s webmaster and has worked at Marian for ten years.

Marcus Wiegert is also a Marian graduate and has been appointed as an Admission Counselor forundergraduate admission. In this role he will travel to high schools, attend education fairs and meet with school counselors and students interested in attending Marian University. Wiegert has worked for Marian in the Information Technology Department and as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach since 2010.

Rachel Benike, Selina Scoles, Sara Lesicko and Jordan Baitinger will serve as Admission Counselors inthe Adult and Graduate program areas, responsible for serving those interested in continuing their education and advancing professionally. Benike worked in the School of Education for the past year and a half, while Scoles served as an admission counselor in the former PACE Office since 2011. Lesicko, a Marian graduate, and Baitinger both join the University in the upcoming weeks.

Bev Compton moves to the Adult and Graduate Admission Office, serving as the Administrative Secretary.She has been employed at Marian for 22 years. Compton is also a Marian graduate.

Ashley Kuhlmann joins the Enrollment Management team as Marian’s Welcome Center Coordinator and will be responsible for arranging campus visits and welcoming prospective students, families and other guests to campus upon their arrival.
