MILWAUKEE – An impressive defensive performance wasn’t enough for Marian University women’s soccer (12-4-4, 11-2-1 NACC) in the NACC Tournament Semifinals falling 1-0.
- The opening 30 minutes of the match were competitive with each team firing multiple shots.
- MSOE would open the scoring at the 38:58 mark with a goal off of a corner kick.
- This lone score held up through the opening stanza.
- The Raiders were able to start strong in the opening 20 minutes, but the Sabres were able to keep the deficit to one goal.
- The Sabre offense would struggle to find possession for most of the second half, however, leading to the postseason elimination for Marian.
- Marian became just the second NACC opponent to hold MSOE to less than two goals this season in the defeat.
- The Raider defense held Marian to zero shots on goal, while MSOE had 13 shots on frame.
- MSOE has now won the last 12 match-ups against Marian, excluding a forfeit in 2018.
- Marian is still in search of its first postseason with multiple victories in the NACC era.
- The Sabres finish the season with the most conference victories in the NACC era and the third-highest win total in program history.
