Maintaining Eligibility

Maintaining Eligibility

Financial Aid Process - Step 9

Financial aid opens doors to your education, but keeping it requires staying on track. By meeting enrollment and academic requirements, you ensure continued support on your path to a degree. Understanding these guidelines now can help you avoid setbacks and stay focused on your future.

To Maintain Eligibility for Financial Aid

Students must:
  1. Be enrolled or accepted as a degree-pursuing student in an eligible school or program
  2. Stay enrolled at least half-time
  3. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward your degree, as defined by Marian University

If the student does not meet these conditions, the student will become ineligible for financial aid. A one-semester warning period will be allowed.

If you withdraw from courses, drop courses, or receive failing grades, you may not meet the minimum standards necessary to retain your award. Students must have a 2.0 grade point average by the end of their fourth semester to continue receiving aid. See the complete policy for Satisfactory Academic Progress. You may also email our office to receive a copy of the complete policy.
