To ensure you start on the right path, we use the Math Placement exam, provided by the College Board, to evaluate skills in arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and advanced functions. This untimed, self-paced, adaptive test tailors questions to your abilities, offering a clear picture of your strengths and areas for growth.

Who can take the Math Placement test?

Both incoming freshmen and transfer students take the Math Placement test to determine the best course placement based on your current skills.

What are the scheduling options?

  • Individual Testing: Schedule an appointment in Fond du Lac.
  • Remote Testing: Take the exam closer to home with an approved proctor.

How long does the test take?

The test is untimed, allowing students to proceed at their own pace. Most complete it in 1–2 hours. Students needing accommodations should contact Accessibility Resources in advance.

Bring a valid photo ID (Student ID or Driver’s License). Personal calculators are not allowed, but scratch paper and an on-screen calculator will be provided for specific questions.
