STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Sophomore Anna Tapia has been named to the Pointers Invitational All-Tournament team after leading Marian University women’s volleyball to three victories.

Tapia recorded 97 assists for an 8.08 assists per set average over 12 sets at the tournament.  She opened the weekend with her second double-double of the season posting 10 kills with 34 assists in a four-set win over Carleton.  The first match of day two then saw Tapia post another double-double this time recording 35 assists with 12 digs in a five-set victory over Saint Mary’s (Minn.).  The Sabres were able to sweep Beloit to close out the Pointers Invitational where Tapia nearly had another double-double with 28 assists, nine digs, and six kills.  She also finished the weekend with six service aces with three coming against the Buccaneers.

On the season, Tapia currently ranks fourth in the NACC with a 7.24 assists per set average and ranks eighth in the conference with 12 aces from the service line.  She has assisted on at least 28 Marian kills over her last five matches.

Marian opens NACC play traveling to Alverno for a 7 p.m. first serve Wednesday, Sept. 15.
