WAUKESHA, Wis. – Marian University baseball (7-6, 0-0 NACC) couldn’t overcome a slow start falling at Carroll 13-6.

  • The Sabres allowed eight runs in the first three innings with three of the runs being unearned.
  • This 8-0 score held through five innings before Marian was able to show life in the sixth.
  • A single from sophomore Gus Walker would plate a pair of runs to put the score at 8-2.
  • In the bottom half, however, the Pioneers responded with a pair of runs.
  • A wild pitch and balk brought in two more runs for Marian to open the top of the seventh.
  • Sophomore James Bornick capped off the inning driving in a run as Marian trailed 10-5.
  • Just like the previous frame, however, Carroll responded scoring three runs as well.
  • A home run from senior Brady Zackrison in the ninth, his second of the season, put the final score at 13-6.
