Marian University women’s volleyball (11-8, 3-4 NACC) fell to Dominican in straight sets to close out the weekend with scores of 25-18, 25-14, and 25-14.

The Sabres were able to jump out to an early 8-3 lead drawing a Dominican timeout in the first set, but the rest of the match proved to be all Dominican.  Marian had an especially tough time stopping the offense for the Stars who hit .355 on the match and committed only nine total errors.

Despite the tough day, sophomore Kaitlyn Merrill had another solid performance recording 14 kills with a .316 hitting percentage.  Fellow sophomore Serina Pehowski went on to record two solo blocks and a pair of assisted blocks at the net, while senior Brooklyn Taylor posted a match-high 15 digs.

Marian returns to the road traveling to Illinois Tech Friday, Oct. 15 for a 7 p.m. first serve.
