AURORA, Ill. – Marian University women’s volleyball (8-6, 1-2 NACC) was swept to open the weekend falling to Aurora in straight sets with scores of 25-8, 25-14, and 25-21.
The Marian offense had a tough night as the Spartans held the Sabres to seven or fewer kills in all three sets. Sophomore Kaitlyn Merrill once again led the Sabres with five kills, while fellow sophomore Serina Pehowski was able to lead Marian in the middle with a solo block and three assisted blocks. From the back row, senior Brooklyn Taylor averaged more than 5.0 digs per set recording a match-high 16 digs.
Marian will look to bounce back traveling to Rockford for a noon first serve tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 2.
