MEQUON, Wis. – Marian University women’s volleyball (11-10, 3-6 NACC) closed out the weekend falling at CUW by set scores of 25-18, 16-25, 25-11, and 25-16.

The Sabres got out to a slow start as the Falcons were able to record 14 kills in the opening set to take a 1-0 advantage.  The Sabres bounced back on both ends of the court hitting .312 in the second set with 13 kills to only three errors.  On the defensive side, Marian was able to force five CUW errors leading to a hitting percentage of .097.

Concordia Wisconsin was able to bounce back, however, handily taking the third and fourth set to secure the victory.  Marian became just the fifth NACC opponent to take a set from the Falcons in the defeat.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Merrill continued her streak of double-digit kills with 10 kills, but fellow sophomore Serina Pehowski led the offense with a team-best 12 kills.  Senior Brooklyn Taylor led the back row with 15 digs, while junior Andrea Miller had 12 digs to go with four service aces.

Marian opens the final homestand of the season hosting MSOE Tuesday, Oct. 19 for a 7 p.m. first serve in NACC action.
