Sabre women’s tennis drops thriller at Ripon to open season

RIPON, Wis. – Marian University women’s tennis (0-1, 0-0 NACC) dropped a thriller falling at Ripon 5-4 to open the season.

• The Sabres fell behind 2-1 after doubles action with Josephine Bruch and Naudia Hermanson earning an 8-4 win at the No. 3 flight.
• Aeryn Olson and Abby Okon went to a tiebreaker at No. 1 but fell 7-4.
• Olson and Okon helped lead the comeback with Olson winning the top flight and Okon the No. 2 spot with 2-0 sweeps.
• Melana Brunton also finished off the Marian victories with a win at the No. 4 spot.
