BALTIMORE – Marian University women’s lacrosse (0-4, 0-0 NACC) set a new season-high for goals in a 19-6 loss to Notre Dame (Md.).

Another slow start plagued Marian as the Gators were able to jump out to a 6-0 lead.  Freshman Emma Heide got the Sabres on the board with her first collegiate goal to close out the first quarter.  The Gators and Sabres each scored twice in the second quarter with Heide scoring the first and sophomore Kayla Kolpitcke scoring her first collegiate goal.

Notre Dame (Md.) was able to pull away in the third quarter with sophomore Nicole Stachon finding the back of the net for Marian.  Stachon opened the scoring for the fourth quarter before sophomore Dallas Kreisa scored for the first time in her career to close out the game at 19-6.

Along with her multi-goal game, Stachon finished with a team-high six ground balls.  Freshman Izzy Newton was able to lead the defense causing four turnovers, while freshman Gwen Kosirog (0-4) made eight saves.

Marian travels to Wartburg in non-conference action Sunday, March 20 for a noon start.
