KENOSHA, Wis. – Marian University women’s lacrosse (0-1, 0-0 NACC) was defeated 18-5 by Carthage in the first game of the season.
- The Sabres only trailed 4-2 with 14:30 left in the second quarter.
- Carthage then pulled away scoring seven of the next eight goals to lead 11-3 at the half.
- The Marian offense had a slow start to the second half but scored the final two goals of the game.
- Carthage had a 39-13 advantage in shots for the game.
- The Sabres only failed one clear on nine attempts.
