Offensive struggles continued for Marian University women’s hockey (7-16-2, 4-9-0-3 NCHA) as the Sabres were swept by Lake Forest after a 3-1 defeat.

The two squads traded goals with Lake Forest scoring at the 13:05 mark.  Freshman Sydney Schipper then buried a rebound from junior Brooke Anderson with just 1:54 left in the period to send the game into a 1-1 tie at the first intermission.

This tie held up until the final four minutes of the second period where the Foresters scored a pair of goals just 30 seconds apart.  The final period saw no scoring as the final was set at 3-1.

Marian was outshot for the game by a 46-22 margin with Anderson recording seven of the Sabre shots.  Sophomore Kayla Kolpitcke (7-16-2) made 43 saves marking her 11th game with at least 40 saves this season.

Marian travels right back to Lake Forest to open the NCHA Slaats Cup with a two-game series, mini-game if necessary, February 25-26.
