DE PERE, Wis. – Marian University women’s ice hockey (9-17-1, 5-9-0-2 NCHA) was defeated 7-1 and 3-2 by No. 14 St. Norbert in the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs.

  • The Sabres allowed just one goal in the opening period of the series opener.
  • The Green Knights then pulled away with four goals in the second period and two more in the third.
  • Junior Brynn Weaver was able to light the lamp for Marian.
  • The second game was much tighter with neither team scoring in the first period.
  • St. Norbert scored the first two goals of the game before Weaver scored her second goal of the series. Seniors Kristen Bisschop and Alyssa Heim each had an assist.
  • The Green Knights then added to their lead and took a 3-1 lead into the final period with a power-play score.
  • Sophomore Jadyn Gorski scored just 1:30 into the final period, assist to freshman Logan Crawford, as Marian cut the deficit down to one.
  • The Sabres would be unable to find an equalizer, however, falling 3-2.
  • The nine wins this season is the second most for a single season in program history.
  • Marian had 17 shots in game two after only recording six shots in game one.
