Marian University women’s ice hockey (6-11-1, 2-6-0-1 NCHA) could only manage one goal in a 2-1 loss to No. 14 St. Norbert.
- The first period looked like it would end in a stalemate but St. Norbert was able to score with just 1:35 left in the period to go ahead 1-0 after the first.
- Marian was able to respond at the 5:28 mark when sophomore Madeline Chimenti buried a rebound for her first goal of the season. Senior Alyssa Heim assisted the goal.
- A costly icing in the third period set the Green Knights up to score just one minute into the final period.
- The Sabres spent the final 36 seconds with an extra attacker on the ice but couldn’t find the equalizing goal.
- St. Norbert outshot Marian in all three periods and finished with a 33-15 edge.
- The Sabres didn’t commit a penalty in the game while the Marian power play was 0-for-2 in the game.
- There weren’t many faceoffs but the Green Knights won 31 draws and Marian just 14.
