STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Marian University women’s ice hockey (4-10-1, 0-5-0-1 NCHA) was defeated by UW-Stevens Point 3-1 in its final non-conference game of the season.

  • Marian got out to a slow start being outshot 13-4 in the opening period, but strong goaltending kept both teams off the scoreboard.
  • The Pointers scored a pair of goals in the second period to take a two-goal lead into the final period.
  • Senior Alyssa Heim scored her third goal of the season just 1:38 into the third period to cut the UW-Stevens Point lead in half.
  • This one-goal deficit stood until 1:32 in the game when UWSP iced the game with a power-play score.
  • Marian was outshot 47-21 for the game recording 10 of their shots in the second period.
