MEQUON, Wis. – Marian University women’s basketball (7-17, 5-12 NACC) saw their season come to an end after falling to CUW in the opening round of the NACC Tournament 51-39.

Both defenses were stout throughout the first half with Marian scoring seven points in the first quarter and six in the second.  The Falcons were able to lead at the break after scoring nine points in the first 10 minutes and eight in the second quarter.

The third quarter proved to be the difference for the entire game as CUW used a 14-6 run to open the quarter and take a 31-19 lead.  At the sound of the horn the Falcons had outscored the Sabres 21-12 for the quarter.  Marian rallied outscoring CUW 14-13 in the final quarter but were unable to keep their season alive.

The Sabre defense was able to force 25 turnovers but the Falcons held Marian to just 4-of-21 (.190) shooting from beyond the arc.

Senior Paris Harris scored a game-high 13 points to go with six rebounds, while junior Brianna Martin had nine rebounds, four steals, and two blocks.
