MILWAUKEE – Marian University women’s basketball (3-9, 1-5 NACC) led after three quarters but fell at MSOE 71-64.

The Sabres shot the lights out to open the game scoring 10 of the first 12 points of the game.  A quick 5-0 run to end the quarter from MSOE cut the Sabre lead down to 20-17 heading into the first break in the action.  The Raiders were able to take their first lead of the game in the second quarter going up by as much as 28-23 with 4:19 left until half.  The Sabres returned the favor with a strong finish to the quarter using a 12-3 spurt to go ahead 35-31 at half.

The third quarter was a seesaw affair with both teams going blow for blow leading to a 47-46 Marian advantage heading into the final 10 minutes.  Marian was able to extend their lead out to 55-50 with 6:33 left.  MSOE would manage to tie the game at 60 before closing out the final 3:42 of play with an 11-3 run to earn the NACC win.

Marian outshot MSOE and hit 12 three-pointers marking only the second time the Sabres hit double-digit three-pointers.  The Raider defense would force 19 Marian turnovers, however, which led to 15 points.

Juniors Claire Levendoski and Brianna Martin each had 14 points to lead the offense, while senior Paris Harris had 11 points.  Levendoski also had six assists in the defeat, a career-best.
