Marian University softball (9-14, 4-8 NACC) fell to No. 17 Concordia Wisconsin 5-0 and 8-4 at Smith Field.

Marian was the away team for both games as the Sabres were scheduled to travel to CUW.

The Sabres were held to just one hit in game one as the Falcons were able to shut out Marian in the opener.  Game two was much closer and one tough inning proved to be the difference.  Marian scored first when junior Emalee Depa brought in a run in the second inning.  The Falcons quickly tied the game in the second and plated three runs in the fourth to build a 4-1 advantage.

A ground out from freshman Kerena Wood brought in a run in the fifth before the Sabres tied the game in the sixth.  Another freshman in Alivia Ernst opened the rally with a double to bring in a run.  Junior Julia Corona provided a single to drive in a run and tie the game at 4-4.  The Falcons responded in the next half-inning scoring four runs to finish off a sweep.

Corona finished game two going 2-for-2 with a run scored and a run driven in.

Marian travels to Lakeland Saturday, April 23 for a noon doubleheader in NACC action.
