MILWAUKEE – Marian University men’s volleyball (11-7, 4-3 NACC) was defeated by MSOE 30-28, 24-26, 15-25, 25-15, and 18-16.

  • Marian was able to take an early 14-9 lead to open the match and brought that lead out to 22-19.
  • The Raiders were able to rally and turned away a pair of set-point opportunities eventually taking the set.
  • The Sabres once again had a strong start opening the second set ahead 13-8.
  • Marian led for most of the set until a late 7-3 run put MSOE ahead 23-22.
  • This time it was Marian who was able to fight off a set-point opportunities before scoring three straight points to even the sets.
  • The third set opened with Marian holding a slim 9-8 lead before a 12-5 spurt saw Marian pull ahead 21-13.
  • The Sabres were able to close out the set scoring four of the final five points.
  • Needing a win in the fourth, MSOE jumped out to an 10-4 lead on the Sabres.
  • Marian managed to cut its deficit down to four but MSOE closed out the set scoring eight of the final 11 points.
  • After a 4-4 start to the fifth, Marian went on a 5-1 run to go ahead 9-5 and force an MSOE timeout.
  • A 6-2 run from the Raiders later in the set saw MSOE take a 15-14 lead, its first lead of the set.
  • Marian was able to fight off the first match-point but the Raiders responded holding Marian on a match-point opportunity of its own.
  • A kill followed by back-to-back blocks by MSOE was able to seal the comeback victory for the Raiders.
  • MSOE had a 53-41 edge in kills and 78-73 advantage in digs.
  • The Sabres had double-digit kills in three sets and hit .108, while MSOE finished hitting .124.
