A late comeback fell short as Marian University men’s lacrosse (8-2, 1-1 NACC) fell to MSOE 10-6 snapping an eight-game winning streak.
- The defenses controlled play early as each team managed just one goal through the first quarter.
- The Raiders took the first big lead of the game scoring four goals in the first 4:16 of the second quarter.
- This gave MSOE a 5-1 leading going into halftime.
- MSOE added to its lead scoring a pair of goals in the first 2:21 of the second quarter to go ahead 7-1.
- The two squads traded a pair of goals to finish the third quarter as the Raiders went into the final quarter ahead 9-3.
- Marian had a strong start to the fourth quarter scoring three girls in the first 2:20 of the period to cut the deficit down to 9-6.
- MSOE would net the final goal of the game and held Marian scoreless for the remainder to put the final at 10-6.
- MSOE outshot Marian in three of the four quarters but held just a 38-31 advantage for the game.
- Marian won all five faceoffs in the final quarter but were just 3-of-14 (.214) in the first three quarters.
- The Raiders had a slim 36-32 advantage in ground balls.
- The Sabre defense forced 36 Raider turnovers as Marian won the turnover battle 36-32.
