POTSDAM, N.Y. – Marian University men’s lacrosse (2-2, 0-1 MLC) closed out their spring break trip falling to Potsdam 15-8.

The Bears were able to get out to a fast start scoring the first three goals of the game.  Sophomore Erik Horman was able to score the first Marian goal which was followed by another Potsdam goal to go ahead 4-1.  Freshman Dawson Rodin opened the scoring for the second quarter before Potsdam scored three unanswered to go up 7-2.  Junior Connor Houlihan and Horman then each scored to bring the Marian deficit down to 7-4 heading into halftime.

Potsdam then had another strong quarter in the third outscoring the Sabres 4-1 with the lone Sabre goal coming from sophomore Finn Maloney while Marian was a man-up.  The Sabres scored three of the first four goals in the fourth quarter to make the game 12-8 only to have Potsdam score three times to set the final at 15-8.  Junior Nick Klotz and sophomore Colt Robertson each scored, while Maloney netted his second goal.

Along with a multi-goal game, Horman picked up six ground balls, while sophomore Mason Powless forced four turnovers.  In relief, freshman Cameron Nevins was able to make 17 saves on 26 shots.
