MONTGOMERY, Ill. – Marian University men’s lacrosse (3-6, 1-2 NACC) was defeated by Aurora 15-5 in NACC action.
The Spartans were able to get out to a quick start scoring the first five goals of the game and holding the Sabres scoreless in the first quarter. A man-up goal from senior Finn Maloney opened the scoring for the second period, but Aurora responded with four unanswered goals to go ahead 9-1. Freshman Cole Hales-Main found the back of the net as Aurora took an 11-2 advantage into the break.
Marian was able to keep pace with Aurora in the third quarter with seniors Casey Dare and Nick Klotz scoring along with junior Nate Htwe. Aurora would score the only goal of the final stanza to set the final at 15-5.
Dare led the team grabbing six ground balls, while senior Erik Horman (2-5) had a busy game making 23 saves on 38 shots.
Marian returns home to host Concordia Wisconsin Wednesday, April 13 for a 4 p.m. NACC game.
