MILWAUKEE – Marian University men’s basketball (7-4, 3-3 NACC) won their fourth straight game defeating MSOE 78-53 on the road in NACC action.

The Raiders scored the first point of the game and the Sabres led for the remainder of the game.  After holding a slim 12-8 lead, Marian went on a 15-2 run to take a 27-10 advantage with 6:47 to play in the first half.  MSOE would cut their deficit down to as little as 12 but the Sabres took a 38-24 lead into half.

MSOE was able to come out quick in the second half using a 10-4 spurt to trail by just eight points.  Marian bounced back just as quickly scoring 10 unanswered points to jump back ahead 52-34 with 13:01 to play.  Another 10-2 Marian run late in the game helped put the game away as Marian led by as much as 27 eventually leading to a 78-53 final.

The 53 points allowed is the first time this season the Sabre defense has allowed fewer than 60 points.  Marian was also able to outrebound the Raiders 40-29 and tied a season-high with 15 offensive boards.  The offense of the Sabres was aided by 11 three-pointers marking the fifth straight game Marian has made double-digit three-pointers.

Senior David Britton hit four three-pointers and finished with a game-high 24 points.  Sophomore Delvin Barnstable chipped in 16 points with seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Senior Kivontay Shaw also had another strong performance scoring 13 points.
