DE PERE, Wis. – Marian University men’s hockey (6-9-3, 1-8-0-2 NCHA) fell to No. 7 St. Norbert 4-1 to close out an NCHA series.

The first 40 minutes was a defensive battle as SNC scored the only goal after the first two periods of play.  The Green Knights expanded their lead to open the third period before freshman Alex Rondeau lit the lamp unassisted at the 4:28 mark.  SNC responded, however, scoring a short-handed goal along with an even-strength goal to close out a 4-1 game.

The Sabres outshot SNC 12-10 in the opening period but were outshot by a slim 31-26 margin for the game.  Sophomore Aaron Brunn (1-1-0) made 27 saves between the pipes for the Sabres.

Marian travels to Aurora Friday, January 28 for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
