MILWAUKEE – Senior Paige Rauhut had a strong start to the annual Marian softball spring break trip and has been named the NACC pitcher of the week, as voted on by the sports information directors of the league.
Rauhut (McHenry, Ill.) was dominant in the circle, posting a 3-0 mark with a save as Marian opened its spring trip with a 4-0 mark. She allowed just three earned runs in 17.0 innings, leading to a 1.24 earned-run average while ending the week with 11 scoreless innings. Rauhut also posted 19 strikeouts with nine coming in a 5-4 win over Thiel. Her best performance came when she tossed a one-hitter against Olivet where she faced just 23 batters while striking out six for her first shutout of the year.

Marian returns to action taking on Rensselaer at 9:30 a.m. (CDT) and Susquehanna at 11:45 a.m. (CDT) tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11, from the Sleepy Hollow complex.
