No. 10 Marian ACHA D2 easily sweeps Lewis

No. 7 Marian University ACHA D2 (12-12-1, 5-5-0 NCHL) easily swept Lewis defeating the Flyers 3-1 and 9-2.

GAME 1

Marian scored a goal in each period and only allowed one goal to take the opener.
Serge Simard opened the scoring in the opening period and Logan Graf lit the lamp in the second period.
A Flyer power-play goal cut into the Marian lead but a goal from Dean Whitcomb helped seal the win.

GAME 2

The Sabres were easily able to secure a sweep after scoring three goals in all three periods.
Simard, Dom Pajor and Gavyn Galloway were the goal scorers for Marian in the opening period.
Lewis kept things interesting with a pair of goals to only trail 3-2 going into the second period.
Dawson Schwengler scored an even-strength goal in the second period, while Zach Wilson and Karl Lavoie each netted a short-handed goal.
Whitcomb scored a pair of goals in the third period with one being on the power play.
Simon Ellingson also lit the lamp on the power play in the final period.

GAME 1

Marian outshot Lewis 60-31 for the game.
The Sabres didn’t score a power-play goal on six chances and the penalty kill allowed one goal on five chances.
