DULUTH, Minn. – Junior Colby Muise of Marian University men’s hockey has been named the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week.
Muise (Yarmouth, N.S.) earns his first NCHA Defensive Player of the Week award this season after leading Marian to their third Superior Showdown Championship and earning Most Valuable Player honors. He played a large part in the 3-1 victory against then-ranked No. 10 Aurora making 41 saves and holding the Spartans scoreless on four power plays. He finished the two contests with a 1.44 goals-against average and 78 total saves for an impressive .963 save percentage, which included a 2-2 tie against Superior and a shootout victory in his opening effort. Muise leads the NCHA so far this season with 366 saves.
