MILWAUKEE – Marian University women’s tennis received 78 points to finish in seventh place in the NACC preseason poll, as voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors of the conference.
Marian won three of their final four matches of the season to qualify for the NACC Tournament for a fifth-straight season. The Sabres went 3-6 season with a 3-4 conference ledger and were defeated by Illinois Tech in the opening round of the postseason. All three of the Marian victories were 9-0 shutouts, while Marian was not held winless during any of their regular-season matches a season ago.
Edgewood earned 12 of the first-place votes with CUW and Illinois Tech splitting the remaining eight first-place tallies. The Eagles finished atop the preseason poll with 189 points.

The Sabres open the season on the road traveling to Ripon Saturday, Sept. 4 to begin the fall portion of the season.
