Marian University women’s tennis (2-7, 2-4 NACC) earned their second straight sweep defeating Alverno in NACC action.

Marian was able to earn a pair of 8-0 sweeps to open the doubles action as Carly Paulson and Aeryn Olson were victorious at No. 1 and Katrina Pokorny teamed up with Julia Loomans at the No. 3 flight.  The No. 2 doubles match was a little closer but Abby Okon and Aubree Helstad were able to pull out an 8-6 win.

Olson then continued a strong season at the No. 2 singles flight improving to 5-3 earning a clean 6-0, 6-0 win.  Paulson and Loomans would each only drop one game in their singles action with Paulson earning her fourth No. 1 win and Loomans taking the No. 6 flight.  Okon continued her strong play with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4, while Pokorny was able to earn a No. 5 win behind a pair of 6-2 set wins.  Helstad then completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at the No. 3 flight.

Marian hits the road to open next weekend traveling to Lakeland Saturday, Oct. 2 for a 10 a.m. start.
