DE PERE, Wis. – Marian University women’s hockey (2-5-0, 2-3-0-0 NCHA) hung tight with No. 15 St. Norbert but fell by a 2-1 final.

  • The opening stanza was fairly even but neither squad was able to find the back of the net.
  • Marian was able to open the scoring with just 7:00 left to play in the second period when junior Allie Kieffer lit the lamp with an assist from fellow sophomore Logan Crawford.
  • Just 1:54 later, the Green Knights had a response to tie the game.
  • St. Norbert was then able to take its first lead of the game 7:28 into the third period.
  • The third-period goal held despite Marian playing with an empty net for 49 seconds.
  • Marian was outshot 44-23 for the game with a 31-12 deficit coming over the final 40 minutes.
  • Neither team scored a power-play goal with Marian having two chances and SNC four.
  • St. Norbert extends its winning streak to 12 games over Marian and clinches a win in the season series.
