Marian University women’s ice hockey (4-9-1, 0-5-0-1 NCHA) defeated Northland 3-1 for a second consecutive night to complete a sweep of the LumberJills.

  • Marian was able to get out to a strong start with sophomore Dayna Jones scoring just 4:11 into the game. Sophomores Emma Heide and Sydney Schipper each earned assists on the goal.
  • The Sabres then dominated the second half with senior Brooke Anderson scoring 2:54 into the period to put Marian ahead 2-0.
  • The LumberJills would respond just 58 seconds later to quickly make it a one-goal game.
  • Jones was able to give Marian breathing room with her second of the game with just 1:14 left in the period. Junior Aeryn Olson and senior Alyssa Heim each assisted her.
  • The two-goal lead stood for the remainder of the game with neither team lighting the lamp in the third period.
  • Marian finished with a 39-23 advantage in shots and outshot Northland 21-9 in the second period.
  • Neither team had a power-play goal with the Sabres having two chances and Northland just one.
  • Each team won 22 faceoffs in the game.
  • The Sabres have now beaten Northland in four straight games.
