Marian University women’s hockey (6-9-2, 3-3-0-2 NCHA) defeated Lawrence 1-0 to secure a sweep of the Vikings.

In a game that saw a lot of penalties and defense, junior Brooke Anderson continued her hot streak scoring the lone goal 17:01 into the opening period.  Freshman Sydney Schipper earned an assist on the tally.

From there sophomore Kayla Kolpitcke (6-9-2) stood tall in goal stopping all 21 shots she faced.  Kolpitcke made 14 of her saves in the final period and also held the Vikings scoreless on eight power play chances.  The shutout is her third of the season tying her for the most in a single season in Marian women’s hockey history.
