LOCKPORT, Ill. – Marian University women’s bowling finished ninth at the Flyer Classic after averaging 183.0 pins.
- Marian went undefeated after the opening day of the tournament winning five Baker matches with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan, Dominican, Illinois Wesleyan, Elmhurst, and Valparaiso.
- The Sabres reached 900 pins in four of the five matches averaging 183.8 pins to open the tournament in eighth.
- Marian would only go 1-4 in traditional matches on day two of the event but were able to hold onto eighth with a 183.8 pin average once again.
- The lone Marian win came in game three of the traditional matches with a 1,028-870 win over Aurora.
- The Sabres had a tough time in bracket play in some competitive matches.
- Marian opened with a six-game defeat against Wright State where the Sabres had a 275 and 236 in the wins. The Sabres were then swept in four games by Carthage.
- In the ninth-place match, Marian was able to defeat Valparaiso in eight games to earn ninth.
