MILWAUKEE – Marian University women’s basketball received 122 total votes to finish 11th in the NACC women’s basketball preseason poll.
Wisconsin Lutheran was picked as the favorite to win the league with 386 total votes and 23 first-place votes. Edgewood followed the Warriors with 360 votes and four first-place votes, while Benedictine collected the final first-place tally. Marian finished ahead of Rockford, Alverno, and Illinois Tech after going 2-10 during the abbreviated season last winter. The Sabres return four of their five starters from that squad including senior Paris Harris who was named to the All-NACC North honorable mention team. Harris was the first all-conference selection for the women’s basketball program since the 2016-17 season.
Marian opens the season at home hosting Dubuque Tuesday, Nov. 9 for a 7 p.m. tip in non-conference action.
