Marian University women’s basketball (3-8, 1-4 NACC) trailed by as many as eight points but a dominating second half led the Sabres to a 67-55 win.

Marian was able to jump out early on the Stars opening with a 10-3 lead.  Dominican was able to cut into the Marian lead but the Sabres still held a 14-9 lead after the opening quarter.  The Stars would force nine Marian turnovers in the second quarter as Dominican was able to take a 30-23 lead into halftime.

The Sabres dominated the rest of the way scoring the final seven points of the third quarter to cut their deficit down to one.  Junior Claire Levendoski capped the quarter with a buzzer beater from near mid court.  Marian was able to use that momentum opening the third quarter with a 12-2 run to take a 55-46 lead with 4:50 left to play.  The Sabres were able to build their lead to as large as 13 points setting the final at 67-55.

Senior Paris Harris had a dominating performance recording her second double-double of the season behind a game-high 26 points and 14 rebounds.  She also had three assists, two steals, and two blocks.  Junior Brianna Martin paced the defense with four steals as Marian was able to force 29 turnovers.

Marian travels to MSOE Tuesday, January 11 for a 7 p.m. tip to open a four-game road trip.
