Marian University women’s basketball (5-12, 4-6 NACC) scored a season-high 80 points in an 80-56 win over IIT.

  • Marian never trailed jumping out to a 13-2 lead to open the game and never looked back.
  • The Sabres went on to outscore IIT 23-7 in the first quarter and 16-9 in the second quarter to take a 39-16 lead into halftime.
  • Marian had its best offensive quarter in the third scoring 27 points. The Sabres had seven different student-athletes score in the stanza.
  • The Scarlet Hawks mounted a comeback in the fourth but Marian was able to cruise to the win.
  • The Sabre defense dominated, especially in the first half, holding IIT to 21-of-64 (.328) shooting for the game and 7-of-31 (.226) from beyond the arc.
  • Marian shot 32-of-67 (.478) from the field.
  • The Scarlet Hawks were just 1-of-18 (.056) on three-pointers in the first half.
  • The Sabres outrebounded IIT 48-33 and outscored the Scarlet Hawks 17-6 in second chance points.
  • Marian held a 38-26 advantage in the paint.
