January 27, 2023 – Sometimes, the caregivers need care. That’s why the Social Work Program at Marian University is pleased to host the C.A.R.E. Conference on Friday, February 3. C.A.R.E. stands for Caregivers, Advocate, Reset, Educate. This conference will focus on educating local service providers and helping professionals, such as nurses, CNAs, therapists, counselors, teachers, social workers, police officers and correctional officers. Members of the Fond du Lac community are also encouraged to attend.
“Marian University’s Social Work Program sees a growing need to educate our helping professionals on the growing drug and human trafficking epidemic, said Brenda Stueber, Associate Professor of Social Work at Marian University, “While also reminding helping professionals that our own self care is necessary to help others.”
The morning will be broken into four sessions addressing topics specific to the Fond du Lac County area: drug crisis, human trafficking, self-care/mental health and leadership in the workplace. The ticket cost is $40.00 and includes four continuing education credits. Current Marian students’ ticket cost is reduced to $5.00.
