The Marian University community has turned to a familiar face in welcoming back Michelle Majewski, PsyD., as Acting President.

Majewski, who earned a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Adler University, previously served 29 years in a variety of roles at Marian, including full-time faculty member, chairperson, dean, and professor emerita. Her most recent position was Sponsorship Advisor for the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes (CSA), and in that capacity she served on the Marian University Board of Trustees.

Majewski will take office immediately. A recipient of Marian’s Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award, she also is the founding editor of the Journal of Homeland Security Education. She looks forward to contributing to Marian University, supporting students and working collaboratively with faculty, staff and administration in moving the University forward.

The CSA Corporate Sponsorship Ministry (CMM) is supportive of the process that the Board of Trustees has undertaken in the appointment of the Acting President. Both CMM and the CSA General Council share the board’s belief that Majewski is the ideal leader for this position. Her knowledge and commitment to mission, her leadership style and ability, the respect she has for every person and her value to the organization will enable Marian to continue implementation of the strategic and operational initiatives already underway until a permanent successor can take office. Majewski’s extensive experience at Marian will benefit the University during this time of transition.
