Following the approval by the Board of Trustees, 10 faculty members will receive a promotion or tenure, as well as five being awarded Professor Emeritus status.

Those awarded tenure and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor include:

  • Sean Fitzpatrick, Assistant Professor of Exercise and Sports Science, College of the Professions
  • Sarah Garvey, Assistant Professor of Chemistry/ Physical Science, College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters
  • Alan Johnson, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters
  • Jessica Little, M.S., Assistant Professor of Marketing, College of the Professions
  • Cooper Wakefield, Assistant Professor of Communication, College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters

Other distinctions awarded included:

  • Amy Hennings, Associate Professor of Psychology, College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters, awarded tenure.
  • Promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor Jennifer Schultz, M.A., Instructor of Psychology, College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.
  • Promoted to the rank of Associate Professor Dr. John Morris, Assistant Professor of Chemistry/Physical Science, College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters.
  • Promoted to the rank of Professor James Gray, J.D., Associate Professor of Sport and Recreation Management, College of the Professions; and Dr. Christine Laurent, Associate Professor of Nursing, College of the Professions.
  • From the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters, awarded Professor Emeritus status were Dr. Shane Boeder, retired Professor, Foreign Languages; and Ron LaBorde, retired Associate Professor of Mathematics.
  • From the College of the Professions, awarded Professor Emeritus status were Patricia O’Connor, retired Professor of Nursing; Dr. Jeffrey Reed, retired Professor of Management; Dr. Michael Doherty, retired Professor, Business Administration and Management Information Systems.

Promotions and tenure will take effect on Aug. 17, 2020.
