Marian University NCAA men’s hockey (5-10-0, 1-6-1-0 NCHA) was swept by MSOE falling on the road 5-3.

  • Both defenses stood out in the first two periods with neither team scoring in the first and both teams netting one goal in the second.
  • Freshman Noah Pickart opened the scoring with his first collegiate goal without an assist at the 6:51 mark of the second.
  • The Raiders responded with a power-play goal to put the score at 1-1 going into the third.
  • Marian was able to retake the lead when sophomore Jordan Simoneau scored a power-play goal just 43 seconds into the third period, assist to senior Blake Kleiner.
  • MSOE then scored three unanswered goals to go ahead 4-2.
  • Simoneau scored an unassisted goal at the 12:19 mark to cut the Marian deficit down to one, but a third MSOE power-play goal gave the Raiders a two-goal cushion the rest of the way.
  • The Raiders held a 33-29 advantage in shots with Marian outshooting the Raiders 10-9 in the final period.
  • MSOE went 3-for-5 (.600) on the power play and finished the series with five power-play goals. Marian went 1-for-7 (.143) on its power-play chances.
