Marian was only able to manage seven kills in the opening set and the Falcons recorded 18 with a .304 hitting percentage.  CUW jumped out to a quick start leading 5-1 and build that lead out to 20-13.  This allowed the Falcons to cruise to the first set victory.

The Sabres were able to bounce back in the second set using a 10-5 run after an 8-8 start to take an 18-13 lead.  Marian was then able to close out the set scoring five of the final six points in the set.  The third set had a similar tight start but Marian used an 8-3 run to build a 15-9 lead and force a CUW timeout.  The Falcons were able to cut their deficit down to as little as two at 19-17, but the Sabres were able to use a 6-2 spurt to close out the set.

The fourth set went back-and-forth for most of the set but it was another late push that allowed Marian to end the match in four.  Marian found themselves ahead 19-16 late in the set before closing out the match with a 6-3 spurt.

Sophomore Derek Wills paced the offense hitting .304 with a team-high 17 kills, while freshman Keanu Ouranitsas-Hayes added 10 kills off of an .833 attack percentage with five total blocks.  Sophomore Aaron Velasco led the back row with 14 digs and junior Nick Stasch posted the first double-double of his career with 34 assists and 10 digs.
