Marian University men’s lacrosse (1-4, 0-0 NACC) earned their first win of the season defeating North Central (Minn.) 23-1.

The Sabres were able to get out to a quick start scoring four goals in the first six minutes of the game.  Marian would have five different goal scorers in the first quarter building a 7-0 lead.  The spread out attack continued in the second quarter with the Sabres scoring 10 goals from 10 different student-athletes.  The final two quarters were similar with Marian scoring six goals from four different student-athletes in the last 30 minutes.

In total, Marian had 14 different student-athletes score with freshmen Trevor Stachowski and Cole Hales-Main each scoring three times.  Senior Nick Klotz led the offensive attack with nine points coming from two goals and seven assists.  Klotz would also force a game-high three turnovers with fellow senior Casey Dare grabbing 12 ground balls after going 13-of-16 in the faceoff circle.

Junior Richard Summers III (1-2) earned the victory in goal for the Sabres making three saves on four shots.  Senior Erik Infante saw his first action of the season in goal making one save in the final quarter.

Marian travels to Augustana (Ill.) Saturday, March 19 for a 1 p.m. non-conference game.
