RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Marian University men’s lacrosse (8-1, 1-0 NACC) opened NACC play defeating Concordia Chicago 26-4 for its eighth straight win.
- Concordia Chicago opened the scoring for the game just 37 seconds in.
- Marian outscored the Cougars 8-1 the rest of the opening quarter.
- The Sabre dominance continued in the second quarter where Marian outscored CUC 7-1 and took a 15-3 lead into halftime.
- The second half was no different as Marian scored six goals in the third quarter and five times in the fourth.
- The Sabre defense would allow just one goal in the third quarter to put the final at 26-4.
- Marian held a 60-24 advantage in shots for the game.
- The Sabres also held a 42-24 advantage in ground balls.
- Marian won 20 of the 33 faceoffs.
- The man-down defense for Marian had another solid performance allowing just one goal on seven chances.
- The Sabre defense forced 31 Cougar turnovers.
- Marian has won all five games against Concordia Chicago scoring at least 20 goals in three of those games.
