LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – Marian University men’s golf carded a 350 and 342 to finish 18th at the UW-Stout Invite.
Micahel Cosenza carded an 84 and 80, with the 80 serving as the lowest round for Marian in the second round, to lead the Sabres and finish in a tie for 52nd. John Elsen had the lowest round for the entirety of the invite for Marian with a 79 in the opening round and then followed that with an 88. Jake Mooring had a solid bounce-back round in the second carding an 84 to finish at 176, while Jake Grabarek had a 10-stroke improvement between rounds to finish with a 190. Luke Bufton scored for Marian in the opening round with his 95 and closed out the Sabre lineup.
UW-Eau Claire won the event by three strokes with a 597 and were led by Cole Jahnke who finished three-under-par for the event to earn medalist honors.
Marian opens the NACC Championship Oct. 9-10 at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wis.
