MILWAUKEE – Marian University men’s basketball received 188 total points to finish sixth in the NACC preseason poll, as voted on by the head coaches and sports information professionals of the league.

Wisconsin Lutheran was picked as the favorite to win the conference for a second straight season receiving 323 total points and 12 first-place tallies. St. Norbert received the most first-place votes with 13 and total 320 points after winning the conference tournament a season ago. A steep drop followed with Benedictine taking third at 262 points and Concordia Chicago grabbing 226 points along with the final first-place vote.

Aurora, Marian, and Rockford finished closely with 194, 188, and 182 points, respectively, while Rockford rounded out the preseason tournament selections with 182 points. Illinois Tech wasn’t far off the pace of the Regents with 173. Lakeland and Concordia Wisconsin finished closely at 140 and 131 points for ninth and 10th. MSOE was the final team with more than 100 points at 118. Edgewood and Dominican rounded out the poll at 73 and 36 points, respectively.
