Marian University men’s basketball (15-8, 11-7 NACC) set a program record for scoring in a game that ended in regulation defeating Lakeland 105-79.

Marian opened the game scoring the first 11 points and never looked back recording triple-digit points for the third time this season.  The Sabres were able to build a 20-point lead going into halftime after shooting 23-of-30 (.767) from the field with 8-of-11 (.727) shooting coming from beyond the arc.

The Sabres didn’t let up in the second half building their lead to as large as 31 points at 83-52 with 10:49 left in the action.  A late 13-2 run from Marian helped the Sabres crack triple-digits on the scoreboard and eventually set the final at 105-79.

Four Sabres finished with double-digit points led by senior David Britton who shot 11-of-14 (.786) with 24 points.  Sophomore Delvin Barnstable had a solid bounce back game chipping in 22 points, while junior Tyler Gouin had 16 points to go with seven rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals.

Marian has earned the No. 5 seed for the NACC Tournament and will host Aurora Saturday, February 19 for a 7 p.m. tip.  This marks the first time Sadoff Gym will host a NACC Tournament game for basketball since 2014.
