AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Marian University baseball (3-2, 0-0 NACC) won its third straight game defeating Fontbonne 14-13.

  • Marian jumped all over Fontbonne scoring 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning.
  • Sophomore Gus Walker drove in four runs in the inning with a pair of singles.
  • The Sabres also had a pair of bases loaded walks in the frame.
  • Fontbonne chipped away at the deficit scoring a run in the third, a run in the fourth, and two in the fifth.
  • Senior Brady Zackrison drove in a run in the bottom of the fifth to put the Marian lead at 12-4.
  • The Griffins then scored nine unanswered with four in the sixth and five in the seventh to take a 13-12 advantage.
  • This lead didn’t last long as Zackrison tied the game in the bottom of the seventh with his first home run of the year.
  • Fellow senior Caleb Dohms then gave Marian the lead later in the inning with a sacrifice fly.
  • The Sabre bullpen didn’t allow a runner in the final two innings to hold on for the win.
