MILWAUKEE – Sophomore Chelsea King of Marian University women’s soccer has been named the NACC Defensive Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.

King (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) closed out a spectacular regular season leading Marian to wins over Lakeland and Edgewood. King opened the week making four saves in a shutout of Lakeland, her fifth clean sheet of the season. She then made three saves in a win over Edgewood for her ninth win of the season. King finished the week with an .875 save percentage and enters the postseason after not allowing multiple goals in her final six starts of the regular season.

Marian hosts the NACC Tournament Quarterfinals Sunday, October 29 with their opponent and time to be determined following the conclusion of the NACC schedule Wednesday, October 25. It will be the first time since 2013 Marian women’s soccer hosts a postseason match.
